It’s hard to believe that it has been nearly 7 years since Disney+ rolled out!

In that time, the streaming service has made quite a few changes. But the latest one is described as a “whole new way to discover stories.” Introducing: Verts on Disney+.
What is Verts on Disney+? Well, the new feature was announced at Disney’s 2026 Global Tech & Data Showcase as an offering for mobile users. It’s set to start appearing this week when you log in.

Disney says, “With a tap of the new Verts icon in the navigation bar on mobile, users enter a vertical video feed and can swipe through a stream of scenes and moments from movies and shows on Disney+, and seamlessly add to their Watchlist or jump directly into playback.”

It’s designed to be a faster way for users to explore the Disney+ catalog and decide what to watch next. Verts was launched on ESPN in August and did some test runs on Disney+, and both experiments showed higher engagement from viewers. Disney has noted that there’s a “new advanced algorithm that powers the recommendation engine.”

The company is already exploring ways to expand this feature beyond just content discovery, so expect to see more from Verts in the future. They hope that over time, Verts will play a key role in the user experience for Disney+. “At launch, this includes driving discoverability across Disney’s entertainment catalog, with opportunities in the future to add content from creators that reflects our fandoms, plus other storytelling formats, content types, and personalized experiences.”

We’ll be interested to check it out and see how it works. Is this like a Disney-centered TikTok feed? Will it actually be useful? We’ll have to see in time.
We’ll make sure to share any more details Disney releases about this new feature.
