Gas Buddy reports that gas prices are down for the fifth straight week! The national average for a gallon of gas is now $2.75. That is a 22.6-cent decrease from last month and 4 cents less than last week.
This is the cheapest December for gas prices in five years! Compared to last year, gas prices are 22.4 cents lower. Great news if you are planning a road trip soon — maybe to Disney World to celebrate the lower prices? We support it.
Gas Buddy anticipates this trend will continue for a bit longer, but it will likely bottom out sometime in January or February. Currently, demand for gas is lower, while production has increased, both contributing to the decrease in the average cost per gallon.
That means now is a great time to plan a fun road trip for less! We’ve heard Disney World and Disneyland are pretty nice. Plus, holiday crowds are starting to disperse, and we still have a bit of time before the spring break rush starts at the parks. Just throwing it out there, do what you want to with that information!
