We Need Your Thoughts on This Terrifying New Coaster Opening This Summer

Listen, we love theme parks. You know that. We know that. It’s what we do here. We talk about theme parksBut even when we put on a brave face for spooky rides like Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment at Epic Universe and Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, our hearts race, and our adrenaline starts pumping. Theme park rides can be downright SCARY!

There are some scary things in Disney World.

Speaking of scary rides, there’s a new one coming soon. The tallest, longest, fastest tilt coaster in North America is set to open in 2025 at Cedar Point, and before it opens, we need to do a temperature check Who’s excited? Who’s nervous? Who’s a mix of both? Let’s talk!

OK, so Cedar Point has a BIG new roller coaster debuting soon in Ohio. It’s called Siren’s Curse (ooh! scary!) and boasts a height of 160ft and a top speed of 58 miles per hour. It’s a two-minute-long thrilling ride, but the thing that REALLY sets it apart from most coasters is the big drop. Yes, the ride car is being TILTED DOWN in the concept art.

You see, Siren’s Curse is a “tilt coaster,” which means you’ll be briefly suspended in the air on a disconnected section of track as it tilts 90 degrees to connect with the drop below. Once you’re in position, the ride lets gravity take over, and it’s time to plummet down a VERY steep drop. Check it out in the ride video! The music really adds to the drama.

This ride is no joke. The ride vehicle comes with an over-the-shoulder lap bar with a flexible vest restraint, which you need when you’re literally perpendicular to the ground after that tilt movement. Oh, and the vehicles also have onboard audio, so you can hear the call of the siren as you escape her grasp. How cool is that?!

Cedar Point also revealed that you will experience 13 (!!!) weightless airtime moments, two 360-degree, zero-gravity barrel rolls, and a high-speed “triple-down” element with twisted and overbanked track. Whew! We’re exhausted just thinking about it! You must be 48” tall to ride Siren’s Curse.

Cedar Point hasn’t confirmed an opening date yet, but we know it is set to debut in early summer. So — what do you think? Does all this talk about zero-gravity and tilting tracks have you pumped to ride the coaster, or are you running in the opposite direction?

  1. My husband, my 10 year old daughter and myself are thrilled. We can’t wait til we can ride this. We are already saying that the front seat is the only place you want to sit to enjoy the thrill. But this is going to be so AMAZING when it is ready. We are thrill seekers! We have been watching them put it together on cedar point website. Getting more and more excited as opening season is just a little over a month away. Hoping the ride will be open early summer. Just can’t wait.😂🫣

  2. Cedar Point is our home park and my friends can’t wait to ride this. I’m not that crazy. Between that new ride and TT2 reopening for the season there will be plenty of thrills for all.

    1. For those of us who grew up in Ohio and Michigan, Cedar Point is our home park. This looks like fun, but not too crazy. Top Thrill 2, Steal Vengeance, or even Millennium Force look to be much more intense than this… Cedar Point also focuses on thrill rides. Disney is my favorite theme park, but it not known for stuff like this. If the drop on Tower of Terror is too much (we all have our fears, so no shame in that)…than Cedar Point is not for you.
