Lightning Lanes can be confusing, but our experts are here to give you the two tips you need to enjoy your Disney day more.

As you are planning your Disney vacation, you might be looking into Lightning Lanes and trying to figure out if it is worth the money. If you want to purchase them, you will want to try to get as many rides as possible with the service to get the most for your money — that’s where we come in!
1. Book Your Next Lightning Lane Immediately
If you are staying at a Disney World hotel, you can book your Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance for each day you are staying there. Other guests can book their reservations 3 days before their park day. But, you can get more than just 3 rides done on that day!

The best way to do that is as soon as you scan into your first attraction, have your MyDisney app open, and book your next Lightning Lane. We recommend having a general idea of which ride you would like to get next beforehand. This way you don’t waste time when it comes time to book it.

You don’t want to forget to do this because this will maximize your day. You could set a reminder in your phone to alert you when it’s time for your next ride or have one person in your party in charge of booking them.

2. Refresh, Refresh, and Then Refresh Again!
When you are making your Lightning Lane reservations in advance, you might not be able to grab the rides you want at the times you want. You also might not be able to get the rides you want. But, don’t let that discourage you!

We cannot say this enough… REFRESH! There are rides and better times that pop up all the time when you go to modify your reservation. I even saw Slinky Dog Dash, which was previously all booked up for the day, have a time slot open. You’ll never know what you can get.
