McDonald’s is always releasing fun new Happy Meals, and we are usually big fans of them.

We’ll never forget trying to collect all the Disney figures when McDonald’s dropped a special Disney100 Happy Meal. We were also pretty stoked about the recent MarioKart Deluxe 8 Happy Meals. Even the Minions have been the stars of their own Happy Meals. However, a new Happy Meal has just been released internationally, and it has us concerned.
In Australia, McDonald’s has released a Squid Game Meal. If you’re not familiar with Squid Game, it’s a Korean Netflix series where a group of people come together to play childhood games, with a large cash grand prize. However, those who fail in the games…well, they meet a brutal end. Yet, someone somewhere thought this extremely dark and brutal TV show would be a great idea for a McDonald’s Meal.

Squid Game is certainly not a kid’s show, so we’re guessing this new Meal is being targeted at adult fans of the show. But if you’ve seen the series, you know it’s anything but happy. The meal includes includes: a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets Medium or Large Meal, served with a limited-time- only Korean BBQ Sauce, Fries, and a Drink. So, yes, this one is for the grown-ups.
Also, the meal comes with a Dalgona Candy with an “M.” Now, Dalgona is a game where you have to use a needle to break off the pieces of candy to extract the final shape (in this case, the “M”) without breaking the shape itself. In Squid Game, those who failed the challenge did not make it out of the challenge alive. This “M” looks hard, though…

We don’t think McDonald’s will take it that far, but Grimace might come after you if you fail the Dalgona challenge.
Will we see a Squid Game Meal come to the U.S.? Well, we doubt it as the subject matter of the show is pretty dark, but you never know. But we kinda’ love that Australia McDonald’s has gone all in for the series, which has a second season dropping on December 26th.

What do you think? Do you want to see the Squid Game Happy Meal come to the U.S.? Let us know in the comments!
The squid game meal is questionable for sure but the toy my daughter got in her latest happy meal is even more questionable.
She was supposed to get the pet simulator set but instead got 2 posters of a soccer team from Africa and some stickers of the players. I had to double check that it was even mcdonalds licensed because it looked like our local McDonald’s ran down to the dollar store and grabbed some random stuff.
My daughter was pretty upset to say the least and while I’m not one to question the toys or mcdonalds in general, that one really got me concerned. It was very much a WTH moment.
