We’re Getting Worried About Disney’s Brand New Festival

Disneyland just hit us with a TON of news this past week!

We learned that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will stop using a Virtual Queue on December 10th (less than a month after its official opening); popular parades and nighttime entertainment are returning for the park’s 70th Anniversary next year, along with many other exciting announcements. Among all that news, there was something we didn’t see that we’re quite curious about — Disneyland’s newest festival is nowhere on the list.

This year, Disneyland introduced a brand-new festival called Pixar Fest! It ran from April 26th through August 24th and featured special entertainment, food, character meet and greets, merchandise, and more!

Disneyland just announced when its upcoming special events and festivals are happening in 2025, and while looking through them, we realized that Pixar Fest was NOWHERE on the list. However, the announcement did read, “The high-energy parade “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” will also return to California Adventure.” Hmmm…interesting.

We absolutely loved this parade, so we’re thrilled to hear that it’s returning in 2025. However, will this be the only part of the festival that will be returning? Pixar Fest overall seemed to be a fun event for guests to participate in, but they did cancel the Club Pixar show that was part of the festival on June 2nd, less than two months after the festival’s beginning.

Disneyland explained that the decision to cancel the Club Pixar show in 2024 was made after evaluating guest feedback and operational considerations, so is this what happened to the whole festival? Did Disney see the parade as the most successful part of the festival and only decide to bring that back for 2025? Or could it be that the dates for the festival just haven’t been decided yet and we’ll hear about it at a later date? Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about the fate of this festival, so we’ll have to wait and see!

We’ll be really bummed if this festival doesn’t come back — it was a cute little event and offered some great special experiences you don’t always get to see!
