Disney Cast Members are the backbone of a company that has given so much to its fans.
We’re constantly impressed by the people who put in hard work behind the scenes to keep The Walt Disney Company running, and we’re grateful for the things they do to keep the magic alive. So when we lose one of those important people, it’s always a sad day.
Theme park reporter Scott Gustin reports that Gail Evans, who was the Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Disney Experiences, has passed away.
Evans began working at Disney in 2022 after working for Mercer. She was named Mercer’s first Global Chief Digital Officer in 2018. Her team at Disney was heavily involved in offerings like MagicBand+, Hey Disney!, and more digital advancements in recent years.
According to the Disney website, “Gail’s career journey was featured in the Netflix documentary series Working: What We Do All Day, and in 2024, she was recognized as an InspiringFifty UK recipient, celebrating the top 50 women who are driving results in tech careers across the UK.”
We extend our condolences to the family of Gail Evans, as well as her coworkers and friends.
My name is Layla and I have Autism. In 2022 I had to give a speech in front of hundreds of executives, including Gail. When she saw how nervous I was, she spent the entire time before her speech making me laugh and to feel comfortable, also giving me advice. She even called out to me during her speech to remind me to drop the mic when I was done. I ended up giving the best speech of my life and got a standing ovation, and the first person to stand was Gail. She was such a bright and vibrant person and a beautiful soul, and I will miss her terribly.
