Disney’s highly-anticipated Moana 2 is scheduled for release on November 27th. The sequel to the 2016 blockbuster was originally planned to be a Disney+ series release before being reworked into a theatrically released film in early 2024.

Now, just about two months out from the release of the film, Disney has sealed a snippet of one of Moana 2’s upcoming songs: “We’re Back.”

The song, a soaring epic about getting back to who one is meant to be,  is our first look and listen to the music from Mark Mancina, Opetaia Foa’i, Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear who have replaced Lin Manuel Miranda as the film’s composers and songwriters. Stepping into Tony Award-Winner Miranda’s shoes is. a daunting task, as several songs from the first film including “You’re Welcome” and “How Far I’ll Go” have become modern Disney classics.
