2 Disneyland Attractions Are Now CLOSED for Refurbishment

Rides close for refurbishment happen all the time in the Disney parks.

Regular maintenance and refurbishment keep Disney’s rides working properly and safely for the millions of people who ride them annually. While it can be unfortunate for a ride to be closed during your short trip, the refurbishments are a necessary burden to the parks. So we wanted to give you a heads-up that TWO rides have officially closed today in Disneyland for their regularly scheduled refurbishments!

Jungle Cruise closed for refurbishment in Disney World on August 26th, and now its sister Jungle Cruise in Disneyland has officially closed for refurbishment as well.

Jungle Cruise in Disneyland

Jungle Cruise in Disneyland is a classic ride that takes travelers on a river cruise along some of the world’s most well-known rivers. You get to see jungle and river creatures along with the 8th wonder of the world — the back side of water! Cruises will begin again on October 4th.

Along with the Jungle Cruise, “it’s a small world” has also closed for refurbishment! This closure will last a bit longer with the ride reopening on November 15th.

“it’s a small world”

When “it’s a small world” reopens in November it will have the holiday overlay as “it’s a small world” Holiday! This is the fun holiday and Christmas-decorated version of this ride. It includes a fun Santa hat on the classic clock tower.

So if you’re traveling to Disneyland between September 16th and October 4th, be prepared to not be able to ride the Jungle Cruise. And for trips between September 16th and November 15th, know that “it’s a small world” will be unavailable. Luckily, when each of these does reopen, they’ll be ready to sail around the world in style!

While they’re closed, don’t miss out on the other popular rides around Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! You’ll find a plethora of other great attractions at both parks.
