I Fly To Disney World All the Time. Here Are the Airplane Seats To AVOID At All Costs

The AllEars Team is in the Disney World parks every single day of the year, but not all of us on the team live down the street from the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Magic Kingdom

Some of us, like myself, live all over the U.S. I personally live nearly 2,000 miles away from my favorite place in the whole world. That makes it tough getting there, so I end up flying there all the time so I can enjoy all the magic. Since I fly frequently, there are a few spots on airplanes I have come to realize are NOT so magical, so I’m here to share where to avoid sitting on a plane if you’re picking your seat!

Seats Near the Bathroom

We may not have to explain this one too much, for obvious reasons. However, it’s worth noting that seats near bathrooms may be convenient if you are someone who tends to visit them frequently on a flight.

Otherwise, seats near bathrooms can be crowded and busy as people line up to use them. It may also be possible that odors could come from the bathrooms making it unpleasant to sit near them. I try to avoid sitting too close to bathrooms on my trips.

Seats Over/Near the Wing

If you’re looking for a good view of the landscape below or the pretty clouds above there is one section of seating you may want to avoid — the wings.

Don’t sit too close to the wing if you want a good view!

If you sit right over the wings, or too close to them, you may not get those pretty views that you would in other seats. The wings are also where those massive jet engines are located, so the area near them may be a bit louder than other areas. Luckily, the cabins are pretty soundproof to all the outside noises.

Seats at the Very Back of the Plane

The very back of the plane has some pros and cons for me. Con: it’s ALL THE WAY at the back. That means you have a longer line to get there and a longer line to get off the plane. You’ll be playing the waiting game standing in line trying to get to your seat and to get out of it.

Pro: There may be less people in the back because it’s not a very coveted sitting location meaning you might get extra space to yourself! I’ve gotten lucky this way a few times and ended up getting a whole row to myself in the back. However, on flights that are full this isn’t very likely, and you still end up having that long walk.

Middle Seats

Middle seats are awkward seats in my opinion. You get the least amount of space and nowhere to rest your head. If you don’t know the people beside you, sleeping in the middle seat can be really awkward when you wake up leaning on one of their shoulders. (Hopefully, you didn’t drool.)

If you like pretty views and a head rest, try to get a window seat. If you like personal space or you frequently visit the bathroom, aim for an aisle seat. If you get a middle seat, I hope you know at least one of the people beside you.

Orlando International Airport

Flying to Disney World is a very common form of travel to the parks. People fly from all over the country and world to visit the Most Magic Place on Earth. If you’re flying to Disney World soon, we hope you get the seats you want on your flight!

  1. Seats over the wing are supposed to be the safest in a crash because you are sitting over the main wing spar, one of the strongest parts of an airplane.
