EVERYTHING has changed in Disney World — okay, maybe we’re being a bit dramatic, but some big changes have happened recently.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure just opened in Magic Kingdom, and Country Bear Jamboree recently reopened with a brand-new show. The biggest update, though, is that Genie+ was replaced with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which brought a lot of changes, and we think we’ll be seeing changes with it well into 2025.Â
So, Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a little different from Genie+ because it allows you to purchase the skip-the-line service and book Lightning Lane selections in advance of your Disney World trip: seven days in advance for those staying at a Disney hotel and three days for everyone else.
You may be wondering about booking rides, and which rides might now be the hardest in terms of securing Lightning Lane reservations. Well, we’re taking a look into our crystal ball to see which rides could be the hardest to book Lightning Lanes for in 2025.
Test Track
In EPCOT, Test Track is currently closed so that it can get entirely re-themed. We’ve seen a permit filed for new set elements for the ride, suggesting this is pretty much a ride overhaul.
This means when Test Track reopens (hopefully in 2025), it’s going to have pretty much the same demand as a new ride. That means we’re expecting long standby lines and Lightning Lane selections to fill up pretty quickly.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom is still going to be relatively new in 2025, so we think there will still be a lot of demand for the ride. It’s currently one of the Lightning Lane selections we are seeing fill up the fastest, and we expect that to remain the same.
The good news is that you can still also try to get a spot in the (free) virtual queue for the ride if you don’t manage to grab a Lightning Lane.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
The most popular ride in EPCOT right now is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. We often see standby lines for the ride up to several hours long. That means a lot of people are going to try to grab the ride’s Lightning Lane to avoid the long waits.
That also means those Lightning Lanes might go quickly, so you’ll need to be fast to grab one before they’re all gone.
Slinky Dog Dash
Likewise, one of the most popular rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Slinky Dog Dash. This is another ride we often see hours-long waits for. If you’ve ever waited in that line, you know it’s outdoors in the hot Florida sun, too. That’s a Lightning Lane EVERYONE will want to grab.
So, again, you’ll want to be quick to grab Slinky Dog Dash as a Lightning Lane selection when you can.
Dinosaur
This one might make you scratch your head, but hear us out. Disney has already announced that DinoLand, U.S.A. is getting re-themed, which means the Dinosaur ride is probably going away. If that re-theme starts in 2025, a lot of people will be trying to get one last ride to go get that dino.
This means that the best way to ride Dinosaur when it suddenly becomes popular before it closes is to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and we’re sure everyone will be trying to get that Lightning Lane selection. Note that Disney has not yet confirmed when Dinosaur might close for the DinoLand, U.S.A. re-theme.
If you’re visiting Disney World in 2025, you’ll want to make these rides your Lightning Lane priorities if they are rides you want to get on without long standby waits. In the meantime, we’ll continue to keep an eye on things in Disney World, so check back with AllEars again soon.

i will never buy this multi pass. i dont buy genie + either. which i know is no longer, this is just more money out of my pocket that is not necessary. we are paying for things that used to be free ridiculous. i spend alot of time and money at disney i am not going to spend more on things that i dont really need.
Nothing to celebrate with lightning Lane just more money gouging . Even less to celebrate if you are outside USA if its not going to be an option to book in advance.
Disney needs to stop the booking in advance as it’s unfair on those of us who travel from beyond America and Canada. The expense for us – say a family of four having a 10 day stay at moderate resort plus flights is around £7,000 and a deluxe resort is around £12,000+, add in food and spending money, well you get my point. All guests should be on the same level, so I would be very pleased if Disney does away with the advance booking, let everyone book once they have checked in to their resort
I agree with Tina. All guests should be on the same, fair, playing field when booking rides.
(And I do live in the U.S.) I never minded Genie+ since I had as good a chance as everyone else to get the ride we wanted.
