Some travelers will have one less airline option when flying to Disney World at the start of the fourth quarter.

Avelo Airlines has announced that it will be exiting six cities that provided routes to Orlando International Airport (MCO).
According to WSAW, the low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines will be halting service to six cities. Avelo will be pulling out of these cities at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Avelo Airlines flew to Orlando International Airport out of all these cities. That means that travelers coming from these cities will have one less airline option when trying to get to Disney World.

Avelo Airlines will be exiting Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA), Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM), and Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Avelo Airlines also announced that it won’t be resuming winter seasonal service at Lansing Airport (LAN), Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO), and Dubuque Regional Airport (DBQ).

According to the Binghamton Homepage, Jim Olson, Avelo Airlines’ Head of Brand and Communications, stated that the routes were “not profitable, and [they did] not expect it to be within a reasonable time horizon.” The Central Wisconsin Airport also noted that Avelo Airlines pulled out of CWA partly due to aircraft availability, but also due to increasing costs at Orlando International Airport.

While we never like to see flights ending routes that service Orlando International Airport, there are still plenty of airlines options and you may be able to find additional routes at larger airports. It is always a good idea to research your best options for flights and find the best option for your Disney World vacation!
