Disney has released some pretty stellar movies lately.
The Little Mermaid live-action remake broke records, and Pixar’s Elemental followed suit shortly after. Another original film, Wish, is coming soon, and we’ve officially got our first look at the trailer!
Disney shared a first look at Wish at Destination D23 but asked us not to film, so we’re thrilled that this new trailer has finally arrived! The new film is set to open in November 2023 and features a smart, optimistic, 17-year-old girl, Asha, and another character named Star (who is an actual star from the sky).
The movie will blend 2D watercolor style with 3D CGI. And, of course, it will celebrate Disney’s past, present, and future. Asha will be voiced by Ariana DeBose, and the movie will feature original music from Julia Michaels.
Asha is at a turning point in her life and feels weighed down despite being so young. She finds herself as the King’s Apprentice but doesn’t fully agree with the way he’s running things. The trailer continues with Asha trying to find her own way by following a Star.
