It’s no secret: Disney World can be expensive.

From rising ticket costs to surge Genie+ pricing, there is a lot you have to budget for when planning your trip. That’s why being in the loop on the best cost-saving measures is so important! Luckily, we have gathered up some of the ways to save you thousands of dollars on your next trip. Let’s dive in!

Use a Travel Agent

Don’t forget to use a travel agent. You could spend hours doing a ton of research on how to get the best deals — but why would you?

A travel agent is free to use, and they are experts at finding you the best bang for your buck. We love MEI-Travel’s Mouse Fan Travel because their services are FREE, they’ve got tons of knowledge about ALL things Disney, and their talented team can really help you plan the trip of your dreams (and answer all of your questions).

Order Groceries to Your Room

Ok, we know, Disney World is full of amazing dining experiences, and it can be tempting to eat Disney food for every meal. You are on vacation after all — isn’t that the best time to forget the words “we’ve got food at home” even exist?

Hollywood Brown Derby

But, if you’re trying to save money, it’s important to have balance. Did you know you can have groceries delivered to your hotel room? We recently did this with Instacart and it was so easy!

If you make some smart decisions about what snacks to keep on hand, this can save you a ton of money. You can still eat out here and there! But eating breakfast in your room in the mornings can save you park time and make it easier to justify that souvenir you had your eye on.

Merchandise

While you’re at it, grab a pack of water so that you can avoid shelling out $3.75 for Dasani every time you get thirsty — which will probably be more than you think while you’re in the Florida heat.

Order Kids Meals / Split Meals

On the subject of food — you can also save some major cash by choosing your meals wisely. Heading to the parks and grabbing a quick service entree?

Woody’s Lunchbox

A lot of them come with big portions that you can often split with a friend to save some cash.

Columbia Harbour House Meal

If you’d rather not share, often a kids’ meal will do the trick. They typically come with a side and a small drink, making it a very affordable way to fuel up. While Table Service restaurants might not always accommodate this request, at Quick Service locations you won’t have any issue!

Save on Accommodations

Another way that you can save a ton of money is by altering your hotel plans. Staying on Disney property is a lot of fun, but there are some alternate accommodations that provide a lot of value that you might not even be thinking about!

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Good Neighbor Hotels offer all kinds of benefits, like free transportation to the parks and occasionally Early Theme Park Entry. Some of them even have free Mickey Waffles for breakfast!

Early Theme Park Entry

Another way that you can save and still be on-property is by renting DVC points. Disney Vacation Club members who are unable or choose not to use their allotted points can rent them out — often at a great discount!

Beach Club Resort

That is where David’s Vacation Club Rentals comes in. The company will assist owners with DVC rentals matching up the guest date and resort requests with the member’s available time — a win/win!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Lastly, if you have your heart set on a particular resort, but it’s a bit out of budget — you can do a split stay! Snag a reservation at one of these pricier resorts for one night and head to a more affordable one for the remainder of your vacation.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Not only is this a great way to save some money — you’ll also be able to see a couple of resorts during your stay!

Limit Your Park Days

If this is not your once-in-a-lifetime Disney trip and you’re just looking for a quick fix — you might also consider limiting your trip to just a few days.

Hollywood Studios

Do a long weekend and limit yourself to two park days — whether you narrow it down to two parks or opt for park-hopper tickets, this can save you a lot of money!
