Disney World is full of surprises.

Even if you’re in the parks every single day like we are, chances are things will look different from day to day. New rides, shows, restaurants, and more are on the way in Disney World and it looks like there are no plans to slow down anytime soon!
We search recently filed Notices of Commencement for permits that could indicate big changes are on the way at Disney World. Here’s what we found this time around!
Animal Kingdom
Quite a few permits have been recently filed for work in Animal Kingdom — including this one for “general construction” in the Asia section of the park. The contractor is listed as MLC Theming, Inc. Here’s the thing, though, the address for the work is listed as the “Asia Viewing Area,” which is the seating area for the Discovery River Amphitheater.

It looks like Creature Comforts may be getting some work done soon, according to this permit. The work could also be for the First Aid Center since the building is shared in this park. The description is for “general construction,” but the contractor is Maddox Electric, so it’s possible there is some electrical work going on here.

Disney announced some huge changes would be coming to DinoLand, U.S.A. at Destination D23, and while those may be a long way away, we did find a permit for work to be done on TriceraTop Spin. Faden Builders has been hired to do “ride path railing repairs” on this attraction.

We’ll keep an eye out for a potential closure on this ride in case it impacts your trip!
EPCOT
It’s no secret that EPCOT is going through a huge transformation, and we just found another permit that was filed for the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. An Imagineering permit was filed to “install signage” at 2010 Avenue of the Stars, which matches up with The Land Pavilion.

Of course, this signage could really be for anything — the permit doesn’t get any more specific than this. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any potential changes that may pop up in this area, so stay tuned.
Disney Springs
And, what is probably the most exciting news of them all — a new permit was filed to demolish a wooden deck in Disney Springs. From what we can tell, the address in this permit links up with a construction trailer located on the west side of this popular shopping and dining area. We know this is huge news, so please calm down.

In other Disney Springs construction news, we recently learned that the Cake Bake Shop’s opening date has been pushed to sometime in early 2024 — you can read more here.Â

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more permits that could clue us into changes coming to Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars for more.
