NEWS: Date Revealed for Disney+ Price Increase

Prices are increasing all around.

When it comes to the Disney theme parks, we’ve come to expect price increases on things like food and tickets. Another spot where we’ve seen costs rise is over at Disney+, the company’s streaming service. If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, we’ve got an update for you.

On August 9th, 2023, the Walt Disney Company held its Q3 earnings call. We usually get news on many aspects of the company and that includes Disney+. While we know Disney+ lost millions of subscribers overall, it seems Disney is going to increase its prices for the streaming service again.

On October 12th, ad-free Disney+ will cost $13.99 per month. This is a 27% increase from the current price. The price of Disney+ with ads will remain the same. At the last earnings call, Disney announced that the ad-free tier would increase in price at some point this year and now we have a direct timeline.

Additionally, Disney is looking to expand its ad-tier to some markets in Europe and Canada on November 1st.

Bob Iger has previously said that streaming is his “number one priority” at the company and since returning to the role of CEO, he has reversed and restructured many things that previous CEO Bob Chapek put in place.
