Headed to Disney World soon?

Chances are, you’ve downloaded the My Disney Experience app in preparation for your trip. With it, you’ll be able to do everything from making Advanced Dining Reservations to booking Individual Lightning Lanes and more. But, it’s not always smooth sailing. Today, the app is having some technical difficulties that could impact your experience.
One way that guests utilize the My Disney Experience app in Disney World is by checking wait times for attractions around the park. This morning, the app was having some difficulties displaying this feature, however. When we opened it, a pop-up notification shared that attraction wait times could be inaccurate or unavailable.

When looking at the wait time page, you can see that each of the attractions is missing an estimated time for the standby line. The attractions that are currently down are still showing that detail, however.

Fortunately, the Genie+ screen was still working, so if you did purchase that for the day, you are still able to make those selections.

Technical difficulties are not uncommon, in Disney World, so it’s a good idea to be prepared for this in case it happens on your trip.
UPDATE: As of 2PM ET, wait times have returned to the Disney World app. They appear to be back to normal, but we’ll keep an eye on them throughout the day.

Hated the app when we were there in March. Mostly because it’s not very clear up front. We managed to get the hang of it at the end of our four days there. For one, you have to be careful not to get a lightning lane reservation later in the day because then you can’t get another one earlier. You lock yourself out. Two, if you park hope you can’t make a dinner reservation for your second park until you get there. Needless to say you won’t get the reservation. Three, you have to pay for the Genie plus every day in addition to the high price to get in the park. Why not just charge you the full amount up front. It feels like you’re being nickeled and dimed. And besides, once you pay there are some popular attractions that you have to additionally pay for over the cost for Genie plus. Be very careful!
