Let’s talk Disney World snacks!

Disney World is known for its iconic food! From the classic Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars to staple Dole Whip and many more famous treats, there is no shortage of snacks in the House of Mouse. Unfortunately, there is one Disney World treat I might regret buying.
Over in Magic Kingdom, there is a secret hidden gem tucked into the back of the Confectionary on Main Street. Past the Mickey Caramel Apples and Rise Krispy Treats, guests can find a super special spot to create their own custom treat!

The Kernel Kitchen inside the Confectionary has one of the most unique snacks in all of Disney World because you can build your own custom treat! Guests can choose one of the several popcorn flavors, add a chocolate drizzle, and then pick from several different toppings to make it completely to their taste.

Flavors and toppings tend to switch out sometimes depending on holidays, so this is a fun treat (and experience) guests can come back to again and again. But while I actually love this option in Magic Kingdom and tend to eat on it for days after, there is one reason I avoid going back to the Kernel Kitchen.

This treat is SO MESSY! I enjoy every bite of this salty and sweet treat, but I can’t help but to be overwhelmed by the amount of mess on my hands. In the Orlando heat, those chocolate toppings and drizzles tend to melt quickly, and sticking my hand into a bag of chocolate never ends in a pretty sight.

Recently, the Kernel Kitchen switched to putting their popcorn into bowls, but unfortunately, it just doesn’t help the situation much. I do prefer the bowls, but my nails just can’t seem to recover from all of the chocolate under them. If you have kiddos, this is an experience I would consider skipping just for your own mental health.Â

Now all of that being said, I love this popcorn! But if you’re not in the mood for dipping your hand into melted chocolate, consider another sweet treat.
