The Major Clue That This Hollywood Studios Attraction Could CHANGE Soon

Sometimes, when it comes to finding the latest Disney news, you’ve got to do just a little digging.

But, not everyone has time for that — which is why we’re here. We do the digging so you don’t have to, and this time around we happened to find something that might clue us into the future of one Disney World park.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to plenty of “movie magic,” and with new movies from Disney on the horizon, the possibilities for change are nearly endless. We’re constantly combing through recently filed permits to get an idea of what work Disney might be doing that they haven’t announced yet, and we happened to find something pretty interesting this time around.

Disney files new permits all the time, for anything from sign installations to Imagineering projects and more. but this week, we think we may have found a couple that could point to something exciting. One permit was filed for general construction at 775 Stage Lane — which happens to line up with a building listed as “Post Production Little Mermaid.” This appears to be where the closed Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is along with Walt Disney Presents.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid failed to reopen after the pandemic-related closures, so it’s possible that this permit could point to changes happening there. Since only the general address is listed and not the specific location, it’s hard to tell.

But, there will be a live-action Little Mermaid meet-and-greet coming to Walt Disney Presents later this summer, and this construction could have to do with that. The contractor listed on the permit is Bungalow Scenic Studios, who have done work for Disney on a few different meet-and-greet spaces.

We spotted another permit filed for the same building for more general construction, but this time the contractor is listed as MMR Constructors, who seem to be an electrical contractor.

We’ll have to wait and see what these permits really mean for the future of Hollywood Studios, but we’ve got a pretty good idea that something exciting will be on the way soon. Stay tuned to AllEars to get the latest Disney news!
