A Lifelike Walt Disney HOLOGRAM Exists — Here’s Where to See It!

Okay, nobody panic, but a lifelike HOLOGRAM of the one and only Walter Elias Disney exists. Yes, Disney history fans, this is for YOU!

Fans of the man who started it all can take a ride along the Walt Disney World Railroad to honor his love of trains, buy a Funko Pop! figure of Walt, or even read about the most unbelievable parts of Disney history. But soon, fans will get to come face-to-face with Walt in a very special way.

According to the New York Times, though Walt passed away over 50 years ago, he’ll soon be greeting visitors in a special exhibit. How? Well as part of the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, Disney has put together something called Disney100: The Exhibition.

Basically, this is a special exhibit that features 10 different galleries. Combined, the galleries showcase over 250 of Disney’s “crown jewels.” There is a special soundtrack of Disney Classics made for the exhibit and SO much more to see.

But we have a feeling that a huge draw here could be the lifelike hologram the exhibit will have of Walt himself! The New York Times explains that Disney used “archival video and artificial intelligence tools to create a lifelike hologram of its founder.” It will be a “full-size digital avatar that speaks in Walt’s voice and appears as part of interactive exhibitions.”

Becky Cline, director of the Disney Archives shared, “I get goose bumps every time I see it.”

UPDATE: Disney shared a first look at the Walt Disney hologram in action.

When you enter the exhibit, you’ll go through a dark tunnel and come into the “prologue room.” That’s where a digital version of Walt will appear to “offer a greeting and provide a taste of his creative philosophies.”

Ms. Cline pointed out that “there are people in this world who don’t realize that Walt was a real person.” She shared, “We want to make sure that everyone knows that our company was founded by real people — creative storytellers. Because that is so important to everything we do at Disney.”
