‘West Side Story’ Is Coming to Disney+ SOON!

Yesterday we learned about several Academy Award nominations for Disney, including Encanto for Best Animated Feature Film and Cruella for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. One of Disney’s newest movies was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, and now we know when this film will be available for streaming on Disney+!

Steven Spielberg directed the remake of West Side Story, which premiered in theaters in December 2021.

This new take on the classic story is going to be available for streaming on Disney+ starting on March 2nd, 2022! Disney has not mentioned Premium Access in their announcements, so it sounds like this movie will be available for free if you have Disney+.

West Side Story has been nominated for 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actress (Ariana DeBose). It is also the winner of 3 Golden Globe Awards.

The film introduces Rachel Zegler as Maria and also stars Ansel Elgort as Tony, Ariana DeBose as Anita, and David Alvarez as Bernardo. West Side Story already had a theatrical release, but we can’t wait to watch it again at home! While you wait for March 2nd to roll around, you can watch the ABC special Something’s Coming: West Side Story – A Special Edition of 20/20 on Disney+ now.
