NEWS: THREE Disneyland After Dark Events Are Coming BACK in 2022!

It’s been a little over seven months since Disneyland Resort reopened to guests and things are slowly starting to return to “normal” in the parks.

While many special events have remained suspended in Disneyland, they did introduce a new after-hours holiday event this year (called Disney Merriest Nites). And, now THREE more after-hours events are set to return to the park in the new year!

According to an update shared by Disney, Sweethearts’ Nite, Villains Nite, AND Star Wars Nite will be returning to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure in 2022!

As a quick refresher, Disneyland After Dark events are separately ticketed events that provide guests with four additional hours in the park on select nights. But, it’s not just lower crowds that draw guests to these, they also offer unique character encounters, entertainment, and more based on what the theme is!

And, with each ticket, guests also can participate in a three-hour pre-party mix-in at the same park and receive unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads of all the pictures taken during the party.

Here’s what you need to know about the returning events!

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite

Sweethears’ Nite is set to take place on February 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, and 14th, 2022 in Disneyland Park with tickets going on sale beginning December 9th, 2021 no earlier than 12PM PT.

This year, the event will include:

• A special themed fireworks show
• Projection effects on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A.
• A jazz ensemble aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat, plus other live entertainment, including a Royal Ball and a dance party with a DJ
• Spot the most darling Disney couples, and take selfies with your favorites
• Fun photo opportunities featuring romantic scenes from iconic Disney films
• Lovely décor, along with food and beverage offerings around the park
• Early admission to Disneyland park starting at 5 p.m., no theme park reservation required

Disneyland After Dark: Villains Nite

Villains Nite is also returning to Disney California Adventure Park for TWO nights on March 8th and 10th, 2022.

Tickets go on sale on January 11th, 2022 and the event will include:

• The Cauldron, a cunningly-crafted cabaret featuring a cast of villainous virtuosos showing off their talents through song and dance
• Ursula’s Seaside Sing-a-long, where you can find your voice and sing along
• The Underworld Dance Party, which allows you to bust a move at a dastardly DJ dance party in the Hollywood Backlot
• Special photo backdrops, featuring scenes inspired by some favorite villains
• Some of Disney’s famously nefarious fiends – or their henchmen – at special locations around the park
• Specialty food and beverage offerings
• Early admission to Disney California Adventure park beginning at 5 p.m., no theme park reservation required

Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite

And, lastly, Star Wars Nite will be back again in Disneyland Park on May 3rd, 4th, and 27th, 2022, with tickets also going on sale on January 11th, 2022.

And, those who attend will be able to take advantage of:

• A Star Wars-themed fireworks show
• March of the First Order, featuring Captain Phasma and her elite unit of Stormtroopers
• A Galactic dance party
• Sightings of various Star Wars characters throughout the evening
• Star Wars-themed attractions, usually with shorter wait times
• Star Wars-themed eats and treats, merchandise, photo opportunities, and more
• Plus, early admission to Disneyland park starting at 6 p.m., no theme park reservation required

Back in 2020, a variety of Villains Nites and Star Wars Nites were canceled, so Disney is offering guests who had previously purchased tickets the chance to exchange them for a 2022 event date.

So, now through January 8th, 2022, guests can contact Disneyland at (714) 300-7807 to choose their new date. Just keep in mind that tickets must be exchanged for the same theme and the May 27th Star Wars Nite will be an additional fee.

Those who choose not to exchange their 2020 Disneyland After Dark ticket can call (714) 300-7807 for additional options.
