Have you ever wondered what it took to build Disneyland back in 1955? If you watched The Imagineering Story on Disney+, then you probably have a general idea of the history behind creating The Happiest Place on Earth.
If you’ve been looking to do a deeper dive, however, then you’re in luck — because a full-length film is currently in the works!
According to Variety, Walt Disney Studios is currently developing a film about Walt Disney’s journey to building Disneyland, which will premiere on Disney+. The film is going to be directed by David Gordon Green and written by Evan Spiliotopoulos. Recent credits from Spiliotopoulos include Snow White and the Huntsman and the live-action Beauty and the Beast.
This film is in the early stages of development, so no casting has been announced at this time. Previously, actor Tom Hanks portrayed Walt Disney in the 2013 film Saving Mr. Banks.
We’ll keep a close watch on the film in the coming months! Be sure to follow along for the latest Disney news.
