We’re just weeks away from Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, and the parks and resorts are getting prepared for the big celebration!
We’re expecting new entertainment, new fireworks, special merchandise, and so much more throughout the 18 months of excitement. And now, there’s a new way to kick off the celebration — with Disney World’s own TV special!
Disney announced today that on October 1st, ABC will premiere “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World.” This 2-hour long event will start at 8PM EST and can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu, showing up later in the month on Disney+.
It will be hosted by Disney Legend Whoopi Goldberg and take viewers on a journey “spanning half a century and beyond at Walt Disney World in Florida.” Throughout the special, you’ll be treated to musical performances from Halle Bailey and Christina Aguilera, plus interviews with iconic actors, actresses, and athletes, Walt Disney World cast members, Disney Imagineers, and executives past and present.
Appearances will include guests like John Stamos, Gary Sinise, Melissa Joan Hart, Candace Cameron Bure, Tom Brady, Kevin Feige, and James Cameron, to name a few. You can also see Walt Disney World Imagineers, including Bob Weis, Mark Kohl, and Ann Morrow Johnson, along with Disney executives such as Bob Chapek, Bob Iger, and Michael Eisner.
