However, that has not stopped Disney from making big plans to celebrate the resort’s 30th anniversary next year. And as a result, Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris will get its first major refurbishment since the park’s opening in 1992.

Disneyland Paris shared a video with details about the castle’s refurbishment, which will start in January.

Disney has hired craftsmen who have worked on the Cathedral de Notre Dame in Paris who will be part of the crew spiffing up the castle for its big birthday. The old towers will be removed and replaced with new towers — it’s a big project!

While the castle’s refurbishment is underway, it will remain open, although the exterior will be covered with a tarp designed to look like it. At present, Disneyland Paris is set to reopen on February 12th, 2021, at which point, the refurbishment will be well underway.

We’ll keep you updated on the castle’s new look and let you know when we have more details!
