For those who looking to learn a little more about the film adaptation, you can check out the new featurette, starring none other than Harrison Ford, below the cut.

The film stars Ford as John Thornton, an experienced and grizzled outdoorsman who rescues Buck from an abusive owner and nurses him back to health. Their adventure together will teach Buck his true place in the world, allowing him to become his own master.

This new featurette features scenes from the film as Ford muses on the relationship between man and dog. This isn’t the first time that one of Ford’s roles has been inspired by the bond between man and canine. Chewbacca, the famous sidekick of smuggler Han Solo, was inspired by the image of a large furry dog sitting in the passenger seat of a car!

The Call of the Wild opens nationwide on February 21st.
