Shopping Around Epcot’s World Showcase

Shopping in Epcot’s World Showcase pavilions can be a lot of fun and very expensive. I prefer to “shop by camera” and to record items I find during my visits as the merchandise changes over time. For instance, upon leaving the Frozen Ever After ride and entering Puffin’s Roost shop in Epcot’s World Showcase Norway … Continue reading "Shopping Around Epcot’s World Showcase"

I’m not much of a cocktail drinker, wine is my preference. However in the last few years I have acquired a deeper appreciation of fine bubbles 🙂 During a recent lunch at Chefs de Francein Epcot, I decided to begin with the Cocktail des Chefs – blanc de blanc sparking wine and black currant ($9.99), … Continue reading "Disney Pic of the Week: Cocktails"

We recently had the opportunity to sample four amazing ice cream flavors (including the new Candied Peanuts with Peanut Butter Fudge) at L'Artisan des Glaces, the ice cream shop located in the France pavilion of Epcot's World Showcase. The gorgeous array of colorful scoops is one of our favorite Pics of the Week.

The Music of “Impressions de France”

Posted on
From the first peaceful notes of a lone flute to the concluding triumph of a full symphony orchestra reinforced by pipe organ, "Impressions de France" at Epcot's France pavilion has thrilled generations of visitors as much for its music as for its visual panorama of western Europe's largest and most varied landscape. The 18-minute presentation is the oldest film still running in its original version at Walt Disney World. Displayed across five screens in a 200-degree arc - the normal field of vision of a (very comfortably) seated human - the presentation has played roughly 200,000 times by my calculations since Epcot's opening day on Oct. 1, 1982.
