Kristin Ford, AllEars.Net's family blogger, recently spoke with Eric Darden, horticulture manager for the Flower and Garden Festival, at the Tables in Wonderland preview event about all the exciting additions this year. Darden has been a Walt Disney World cast member for 30 years and served as the foreman of the topiary team at the first Flower and Garden Festival 24 years ago.

Florida artists help Walt Disney World showcase sustainable food at Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

The gardens surrounding the Urban Farm Eats outdoor kitchen demonstrate methods for growing sustainable food in your own back yard, including raising different types of chickens and the eggs they produce. The display, which also explains the ecological benefits of chicken coops, was designed and built by two Florida artists who have been spreading pixie dust at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival for years.

Two Florida artists who have been spreading pixie dust at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival for years with their miniature fairy houses are back with new creations this year. And for one special weekend, you can meet them at the festival and purchase unique pieces from their company, the Prop Duster Dept. Sisters Vikki Yarborough and Ronda Maseman work just like the Disney Fairies do -- by recycling objects that humans have discarded and by collecting things from nature.
