When we’re flying internationally, our airplane seat can make or break our flight. Whether they’re too hard, too small, or too smelly, your seat can be brutal if you’re stuck there for 12 hours.

But Emirates just announced a new seat upgrade that will hit economy class, and this new headrest is a total game-changer!
Neck pillows will be a thing of the past if we can get this new Emirates headrest on every plane. The new U-Dream Headrest is padded to provide full neck and head support during sleep or relaxation. The device features flexible side wings that can fold inward to cradle the head and neck. To accommodate passengers of different heights and body types, the headrest can move vertically and tilt to align with customers. Emirates says it helps passengers maintain a comfortable sleeping position without falling forward or sideways.

Emirates Airlines president Sir Tim Clark says the device “significantly improves” comfort in economy class, especially for those traveling on long-haul flights. “It’s another innovation that shows our commitment to customers and cements our economy class as the best.”

The new headrest is already available on three of the company’s Airbus A350 aircraft, and Emirates is working to install more “as quickly as possible.” By the end of the year, the entire A350 fleet will be fitted with the U-Dream Headrest. Beginning in 2027, the company will retrofit most of its Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. The headrests will even come pre-installed on all 270 Boeing 777X aircraft Emirates has ordered!

This new headrest will be a game-changer for long-haul flights. Stay tuned to AllEars for more travel news!
