It’s about to be a Toy Story summer, y’all! After some big Taylor Swift reveals and tons of collaborations to promote the film, it is finally almost time to watch Toy Story 5!

Ahead of the big premiere, insiders are sharing Disney’s hopes for the movie. Trust us, they’re aiming high!
After years of waiting, it is finally time to watch Toy Story 5. The new film follows the return of Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang as they face a new threat to playtime — technology. The new film will see the toys going face-to-face with Lilypad!

The movie will feature Greta Lee Lilypad and Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants. Disney and Pixar have done a ton of promotion for the film, including a brand-new Taylor Swift song called “I Knew It, I Knew You” after weeks of dropping Easter Eggs about the collaboration.
@taylorswift Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond. “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now. 🤠🐴
After all of the marketing, fan love, and more, Disney and Pixar have set their sights high for the film’s performance. According to ThePixarExpert on X, Toy Story 5 is aiming for a $150 million to a $175 million 3-day opening weekend at the domestic box office.

If they manage these numbers, this would make Toy Story 5 one of the top 3 biggest debuts for an animated film in U.S. and Canadian history. The top two spots are taken by Incredibles 2, which nabbed $182 million in its opening weekend, and Inside Out 2, which made $154 million in its opening weekend.

Toy Story 4 made roughly $120.9 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend, so Disney and Pixar really are reaching for the sky, as Woody would say. Presale tickets are available for Toy Story 5 already for those who are eager to grab some popcorn and a seat. If Pixar’s expectations are accurate, the theaters are going to be packed!

During D23 in August 2025, we got a sneak peek at the first 5 minutes of the film, which followed several high-tech Buzz Lightyear toys washing up on a deserted island, and they’re so advanced that they figure out how to escape and get back to civilization. We have a feeling this movie is going to be epic!

The film officially releases on June 19th. We’re eager to see how the film performs, especially after Disney has had some recent big wins in the box office. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the numbers once they’re finally revealed. Be sure to keep following AllEars for more movie news, updates, and more.
