Uh, Disney? We're Pretty Sure This Isn't Supposed To Happen

Disney has made major progress on its character technology over the past few years, with roaming droids, animatronics that look real, and more.

But such advanced technology comes with advanced problems, too, and you really never know what sort of chaos might ensue when you’re dealing with these intricately designed machines. Even Disney’s brand-new robotic Olaf recently malfunctioned, and it wasn’t the only animatronic that had a rough week!

Disney’s brand-new Olaf animatronic just debuted at World of Frozen in Disneyland Paris, and he’s been a HUGE hit! This walking, talking robot really embodies the Olaf we know and love from the Frozen franchise, and it’s easy to see why so many people are excited about this new Disney technology.

But even snowmen have rough days every once in a while, and that was exactly the case with Olaf recently. Videos have gone viral of the robot malfunctioning, and we have to be honest, it’s pretty darn hilarious. You can check it out below:

Unfortunately, Olaf wasn’t the only Disney animatronic to hit a bit of a rough patch this week. Over at Tokyo Disneyland, Rapunzel’s hair is being stolen — and not by Mother Gothel! It looks like a couple of crows have decided that Rapunzel’s hair would make the perfect material for their nests and have begun taking it for themselves.

We can’t blame these crows, as Rapunzel is kind of known for her hair, and it looks like word has gotten out around the corvid kingdom as well!

While it can be a funny sight to see situations like this happen, it can also be disappointing for folks who have planned their trips and wanted to see animatronics like this functioning properly (cough, cough, we’re looking at you, Shaman and Kylo Ren animatronics in Disney World — and don’t even get us started on the Yeti!).
