It’s safe to say that the vibes at Disneyland are a little weird right now…

Disneyland might be The Happiest Place on Earth, but — right now — it has its quirks. Don’t get me wrong, I’d live at Disneyland if I could, but there are some seriously weird/annoying problems popping up around the resort that might catch even the most seasoned Disney pros off guard.
While these tidbits aren’t weird, per se, they’re certainly out of the ordinary when it comes to Disneyland. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

Getting Around the Resort Is Weirdly Hard
This one feels odd, right? The Disneyland Resort is tiny compared to Disney World, so getting around should be easy. And it still is, but just a little more complicated.

Between construction walls in both parks — especially around the Avengers Campus expansion in California Adventure — and Downtown Disney, navigating the resort has turned into a bit of a maze. Pathways you’ve relied on for years are suddenly blocked, and familiar shortcuts are gone.

A big example is the closure of the pathway between Cars Land and Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure.

This closure has forced guests to take longer, more crowded alternate routes. When you combine that with ongoing restaurant and ride construction, you’re getting some serious bottlenecks in high-traffic areas.

It’s not impossible to get around — but you may need to build in extra time and patience.
Your Go-To Restaurants Might Get Benched
Okay, this is a good problem, but still a problem. Disneyland is in a full-on food expansion era right now, and that means you’re suddenly faced with a dilemma. Should you stick with your tried-and-true favorites, or branch out?

Because there are a LOT of new options that will soon be calling your name. We’re talkin’ Porto’s Bakery and Cafe, Earl of Sandwich (back and better than ever), Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby, Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon, and Pearl’s Roadside Barbecue. That’s a stacked lineup, and it’s only growing.

So yeah, you might have to skip your usual must-do dining spot just to try everything new.
Green Milk Is Disappearing
This one feels oddly emotional. Since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019, you’ve had two iconic drink choices: Blue Milk and green milk. But now? Green milk is on its way out in Disneyland.

Once current supplies run out, that’s it. Gone for good. Apparently, the citrusy, floral green milk just hasn’t been as popular as its blue counterpart (or even the newer pink milk), so Disney is pulling it from Batuu West entirely.

The wild part? You can still get it in Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. So if you’re a green milk fan, you can get to Disneyland ASAP for one last cup, or book a cross-country trip just to sip it in Florida. No judgment either way. It wasn’t my favorite flavor, but I can totally understand the loyalty!
That “Free” Lightning Lane Comes With Stress
If you’re staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel, you now get one free Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection per person. Sounds great, right? But here’s the catch: You only get one.

That means you’ve got to pick carefully. And suddenly, choosing which ride to skip the line for becomes a high-stakes decision. Do you use it early or save it for later? Should you stack it with a purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass?

Speaking of which, let’s not ignore the bigger picture here. This feels like a strategic way to nudge guests toward buying the full Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

It’s a “free sample” that might leave you wanting the whole package. To make matters worse, this perk is replacing Early Theme Park Entry, so not only is a once-established perk that gave hotel guests a leg up gone, but it’s been replaced with an appetizer meant to encourage you to spend more. Not great, Disney. Not great.
One of the Best Shortcuts Is Gone for Good
If you’ve ever stayed at Pixar Place Hotel, you know how clutch that private entrance into Disney California Adventure used to be. You could walk out of your hotel, and then you’re basically in Pixar Pier. Well, not anymore.

That dedicated entrance is permanently closed, which means guests now have to walk all the way around and enter through the main gates like everyone else.

It’s a pretty big downgrade in convenience, especially if you’re trying to maximize your morning strategy. If that direct park access is a must-have for you, the Grand Californian is now the only hotel that still offers its own entrance into California Adventure, and it drops you right into Grizzly Peak.

None of these issues are dealbreakers, but they are the kinds of little things that can throw off your plans if you’re not expecting them. The good news is that most of these are tied to growth, expansion, and changes that could make Disneyland even better in the long run.
There are tons of changes coming to the resort over the next few years, so be sure to keep it posted right here at AllEars for all the latest updates!
