5 Things That Make Coming Home From Disney Less Brutal

There’s always one bad thing about Disney World trips, and it’s that, unfortunately, they have to end at some point.

Leaving is the hardest part

It’s the hardest part of the trip for most guests, when you have to return to reality, your everyday life, and go back to dreaming about your next trip, or reminiscing on the memories you made. However, we’ve learned (from firsthand experience) that there are many things you can do to ease the pain of the end of your trip when you get back home, so if you’re feeling the Disney blues, try these five things!

Book A Character Meal Right Before You Leave

This tip comes directly from one of our team members, who says that she always books a character meal right before she’s set to leave, so she can ride that high as she travels home!

Now, if you’re not a fan of character meals, this can also work with other meals too, such as a meal at one of your favorite restaurants as a whole, or maybe a ride or show you really love. If you make it the final thing you do, it’ll be your final memory of the trip, and you’ll leave with a smile on your face.

Putting On AllEars Videos & Park Ambiance

Okay, this one actually comes directly from me, because for a long time, once I returned from my Disney trip, I’d often watch AllEars videos to live vicariously through my friends and coworkers in the parks. It’s a great way to get a feel of the magic even when you’re not there yourself!

We also love putting on Disney parks ambiance, which you can find all over YouTube! Often, we’ll put together playlists of our favorite videos to put on while we’re working, doing chores around the house, or just relaxing — it really makes you feel like you’re back in The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Bring Back Tons of Snacks

We also think it’s a great idea to bring back lots of snacks from the parks to eat as you travel back home, and also have for when you’re back in your living room, missing the parks. A lot of guests will bring home ground Joffrey’s coffee, or pre-packaged snacks from around the park (the only time we recommend pre-packaged over fresh from the bakery case!).

Pre-packaged snacks!

Now, if you’re driving to and from the parks instead of flying, this can make bringing back other snacks, such as cookies from Gideon’s Bakehouse of Summer House on the Lake, easier, and those are snacks I’ve personally never regretted bringing home!

A Candle That Smells Like Disney

What better way to remember your favorite place than with scent? We personally love the Park Scents Waffles Candle, because that’s a smell that will immediately bring you back to the parks!

There are also numerous other Disney-inspired candles you can find online, but this is one of our favorites. We think it’ll be one of your favorites too, especially if you really love the sweet snacks and smells around the parks.

Bringing Home Some Souvenirs

While we’re big on not spending money you don’t need to in the parks, especially since the trip itself is already so expensive, grabbing a souvenir or two that really reminds you of your great memories is fantastic, especially if you can use it every day! We especially love useful souvenirs like a mug — one of our personal favorites right now is the Disney Parks Vintage Maps Mug.

Whether you buy your souvenir in the park, or you want to purchase it online to be at your home when you get back (so they don’t get damaged on your trip back), you’ll be reminded of the Disney magic every time you see it or use it.

Grab one right here

For a lot of us, when we’re feeling the Disney blues, we book our next trip, but we know that’s not feasible or possible for everyone. Or, even if you have booked your next trip but it’s not for months or even years, these are a great way to tide you over in the meantime. Be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
