I Know What You Should Rope Drop in Epic Universe, and It’s NOT a Ride

If you’re planning to rope-drop Epic Universe this year, there’s one spot you should head first, and it’s NOT a ride!

Universal’s latest park is full of attractions that are already becoming fan-favorites, including Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, and Donkey Kong Mine-Kart Madness. However, there’s a NON-ride attraction that might be worth making a beeline towards as soon as the park opens.

Since Epic Universe first opened for previews earlier this spring, one of the park’s standout experiences has been the meet & greet with Hiccup and Toothless in the How To Train Your Dragon-themed Isle of Berk portal.

As we wrote after our first meeting with the duo, “We were SO impressed by the Toothless Night Fury dragon — he even seemed to react to us AND Hiccup, who, by the way, genuinely made us feel like we were talking to one of the most iconic Vikings in Berk. His mannerisms and voice were spot-on, and we were actually a little nervous because it really was like one of our favorite characters had come to life in front of us.”

As the park went through previews and then opened full time to the public, more and more guests agreed with our initial assessment that the meet & greet was one of the park’s best experiences, and usually has the wait to back it up. Which brings us to rope-drop.

As we’ve observed the park in its opening months, we’ve seen that the meet & greet’s initial rope-drop line is usually about 20-30 minutes, way shorter than it will become as the day goes on. This makes sense, as many early guests head straight for attractions like Battle at the Ministry.

If meeting Hiccup and Toothless is high on your Epic Universe bucket list, we’d recommend rope-dropping the experience for a short wait to begin your day! Stay tuned to AllEars for more Epic Universe tips!
