Disney World is changing so much!

DinoLand U.S.A. is closing, Lightning McQueen and Mater are moving in, and the Muppets are switching homes! This also means there’s quite a bit of construction happening around the resort, and it looks like even more has popped up unexpectedly.
Magic Kingdom has more construction walls up! Over at the Emporium, we spotted even more walls up throughout the store as a part of the phased refurbishment efforts that have been going on for a while.

Despite the walls, there is an easy flow of traffic, so you can still shop till you drop. We’ve noticed changes in the flooring, specifically, which you can see below!

According to the Cast Members, the store recently finished the second phase of construction and is undergoing the third phase, which is expected to wrap up soon. They also hinted to us that the store will be very open once the construction is complete, so we can’t wait to see the changes.

If you haven’t ever shopped inside the Emporium, it’s the biggest store in Magic Kingdom, which means it tends to be busy and crowded when it’s time for those last-minute souvenirs. We love this spot for its large selection, but we are definitely ready for the construction to wrap up!

The Emporium isn’t the only spot with more construction walls, though! Over at the entrance into Fantasyland, we spotted some pretty hard-to-miss walls.

This construction is located by the Mirabel meet and greet right before you get into the land at the edge of the Fantasyland bridge. We noticed these walls were creating a pretty bad bottleneck situation, leading to dense crowds.

We can imagine this being a problem during rope drop and after shows like Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire and Festival of Fantasy. We don’t know how long these walls will be up, but you can be sure we will be updating you so you know where to avoid during your trip.

These construction walls are just scratching the surface of what we’re expecting to see sometime in 2025 when Disney begins construction on the new Cars area coming to Magic Kingdom. The new area will be replacing The Rivers of America, including Tom Sawyer Island and The Liberty Belle Riverboat. We will keep you updated on the changes as they begin, so be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news!
