Well, that was fast.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Disneyland on November 15th. It’s nearly the exact same ride you’ll find in Disney World, but similar to how the Splash Mountain attractions were nearly the same across both parks, it does have a few key differences due to how the ride was built. The Disney World version of this new attraction opened on June 28th, but both versions of the attraction opened with Virtual Queues to help manage crowds. As it turns out, it looks like Disneyland will be doing away with the Virtual Queue less than a month after the ride’s opening!
Disneyland has just announced that beginning December 10th (yes, TWO days from now), Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will no longer use a Virtual Queue. Instead, you can wait in a regular standby queue.

This means no more waking up at 7AM for that first VQ drop or stressing about park wifi as you try to catch the second drop at 1PM! A Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Premier Pass line will also be available for this attraction. This means that it will be included in your Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchase, and those who splurge on the newest Lightning Lane Premier Pass option can use the Lightning Lane whenever they want.

This is quite the change for Disneyland and makes us wonder if a similar change could be coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World as well. However, Disney hasn’t made any announcements about the virtual queue rules changing in Magic Kingdom, so we’ll have to wait and see.
