Are you familiar with the Disney College Program?

The program offers college students a chance to work for Disney, gain “on-the-job” knowledge in a variety of potential roles (generally front-line roles in the parks and hotels), stay in special housing, and more. It generally lasts for a semester. And now an important part of the program is changing!
Disney has announced that the hourly pay rate for Disney College Program participants will soon start at $16 per hour. This is an increase from the $14 per hour paid to participants. The increase goes into effect on June 4th and will apply to those already in the program, as well as any future participants.

Disney is encouraging college students who are interested in the program to visit the Disney College Programs website and use that to apply or submit any questions they have about the program.
The program is open to students at U.S. colleges, universities, or higher education programs (“U.S.” includes all 50 states and Puerto Rico and US territories). Applicants can also be graduates from one of these schools who graduated within 24 months of their application posting date.

Students who participate in the program get on-the-job experience but also learn through networking and special seminars. They will be paid for the program, and have the chance to earn college credit.

This change comes after Disney union Cast Members negotiated an agreement with Disney so that they would have their wages increased to a minimum of $18 per hour this year.
