We’ve been monitoring the progression of Hurricane Ian as it continues to affect Florida and beyond.

The storm was upgraded to a Category 4 overnight and is still lingering off the southwest coast of the state bringing heavy rains, 150+ mph winds, and flooding with it. And now, as Ian’s path moves across Florida, a tornado warning has been issued for one Disney World county.
A tornado warning has been issued for Osceola County, in which Disney World partially resides, until 3:30PM ET. The warning also extends to Brevard County as well.

This comes after the latest advisories placed Ian 50 miles south-southwest of Punta Gorda and 25 miles west-northwest of Fort Myers. According to WESH, the hurricane was moving north-northeast at only 9 mph — but with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph.
As of 2PM, Hurricane Ian is still a high Category 4 storm, just shy of being a Category 5 by just two miles per hour.

If you’re currently riding out the storm in Disney World, know that Disney just added some hotel rules to keep everyone safe and that includes checking into your Disney World hotel by 3PM today. After 3PM, Disney asks that you remain inside your hotel.
