It’s been a year now of lots of movie and television watching at home. But, things are starting to look up for theaters moving forward, as movies are returning to the big screen!

So, where does that leave streaming services? Well, here’s what you need to know!
According to CNBC, many of the streaming services may experience a hit as movie theaters reopen and entertainment starts to return to normal. When at-home viewings were the most popular in the 4th quarter of 2020, American viewers spent 44% more of their time using streaming services than in 2019. So, what does that mean for streaming services moving forward?

Although they will need to use various tactics to attract subscribers, like the debut of popular entertainment including Loki, there is still currently a way to find out how streaming services are currently doing. The amount of subscribers and average revenue per user (ARPU) are important to the pull each streaming service has. While each company may not reveal that information, here are the top 5 streaming services right now, according to their most recent quarterly earnings reports.

According to CNBC, these are the top 5:
1) Netflix
- 208 million paying subscribers
- 74.4 million U.S. and Canada subscribers
