The all-new streaming platform Disney+ finally has a released date! Starting November 12, you’ll be able to stream hundreds of Disney-owned movies, shows, and originals!

The service will cost $6.99 per month, or a once annual fee of $69.99. This is about half of the cost of Netflix monthly. Currently, Disney+ will only be available in the United States, however they are working to have it available in major regions across the world shortly after. No other dates have been released.

Disney+ will feature hundreds of titles from not only Disney, but other brands they own such as Pixar, Marvel, Lucas Film, and their newest acquisition 21st Century Fox which includes National Geographic.

One of the most exciting announcements made today is that within the first year, Disney+ will release more than 25 original series and 10 original movies, specials, and documentaries.

Some of the original series from Marvel Studios include:

• “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” – live-action series with Anthony Mackie as Falcon and Sebastian Stan  as Winter Soldier
• “WandaVision” – live-action series starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany as The Vision
•  “Marvel’s What If…?” – the FIRST animated series from Marvel Studios, inspired by the What If Comic Series and each episode will explore a key moment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and show what happens if things went completely differently

The Walt Disney Animation Studios will be releasing a documentary series titled “Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2,” which will explore the making of one of the most highly anticipated Disney films of all time. The Pixar Animation Studios will be releasing several Toy Story-based projects including the “Forky Asks a Question” animated short series and a short film called “Lamp Life.” Disney Television Animation is also working on a Phineas and Ferb movie. 

National Geographic will be releasing two documentary series including “The World According to Jeff Goldblum” where Jeff dives deep into everyday items and reveals the science behind them, as well as “Magic of the Animal Kingdom” which takes you behind the scenes of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot’s SeaBase.

These new series join a long list of already announced titles including “High School Musical: The Series,” “Monsters at Work,” the new season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Loki,” among many others.

Also coming to Disney+ are Fox favorites such as “The Princess Bride” and “The Sound of Music,” as well as 30 full seasons of “The Simpsons.” In total over 7500 television episodes and 500 movies will be available. 2019 Disney Universe films such as “The Lion King,” “Avengers: End Game,” and “Star Wars: Episode IX” will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ after their theater run.

As with the legacy of the brand, Disney+ promises the best in service, quality, and usability. It will be available on a lengthy list of mobile devices, smart TVs, and gaming consoles.
