Okay, This Is Officially the Weirdest Thing I’ve Ever Seen at Epic Universe

We’ve seen some bizarre things at theme parks, but this may take the cake.

Hiccup’s Wing Gliders!

Since its opening in the spring of 2025, Universal’s Epic Universe has provided some of the most impressive and interesting theme park sights we’ve ever seen. From the spooky atmosphere of Dark Universe and the video game come to life of Super Nintendo World to  Stardust Racers’ coaster trains soaring through the night sky and the gargantuan atrium of the Ministry of Magic, the park provides visuals we’ll never forget. However, the park has also provided us with a much weirder sight.

One of our favorite portals at Epic Universe is the How to Train Your Dragon-themed Isle of Berk. The meticulously themed area that looks like it came directly out of the film series, and is loaded with easter (dragon?) eggs that take several visits to take in.

Judging by general reactions to the land, we’re not alone in our effusive praise. From die-hard fans of the franchise to those who’ve never seen the films, many are enjoying the land, riding the rides, eating the food, buying the souvenirs, and even cosplaying…

Which brings us to our issue. We love cosplaying Disneybounding, etc., and dressing like How to Train Your Dragon characters fits right in. The only issue? The fur.

Adorable

Many characters in the HTTYD universe wear fur as a primary element of their costume, which in turn means that many cosplay outfits for the franchise’s characters require fur.

In Florida.

Definitely not something we’re used to seeing at theme parks in the Sunshine State, especially during the summer months. It especially sticks out at Epic Universe, a park that’s already dealing with weather issues and a lack of shade. At least it’s easy to stay hydrated.

Guests wearing heavy fur (real and faux) to Epic Universe’s Isle of Berk is certainly one of the more… interesting things we’ve seen at a theme park in recent years. Stay tuned to AllEars for more coverage of Universal’s new park.
