A Classic Universal Orlando Ride Is Closing This Week

Rides come and go in Universal Orlando, and very few in Universal Studios are original attractions from 1990.

E.T. Adventure

One of the original attractions still left is E.T. Adventure, which is iconic for numerous reasons — its age, the film it’s inspired by, the smell inside, the list goes on. If you’re visiting the park this June, though, you need to know that it might not be available!

From June 8th through June 13th, E.T. Adventure will be closed for a short refurbishment. We know, we know, it’s frustrating, but hey, it’s an old ride! They’ve gotta give it the TLC it needs to make sure it stays running smoothly.

This means the ride will reopen again on June 14th, unless something prolongs the refurb. If you’ve never ridden this attraction before, we won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say the story goes beyond what you see in the film!

The only other closure to watch out for in Universal Studios is Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which will close permanently on August 18th to make way for a new attraction. We don’t know anything about the future of this space just yet, but we’re looking forward to it!

  1. I’ve only rode this ride once in 2007 I absolutely loved it and it was my most memorable ride it & Spiderman were my favorite. I revisited in 2023 but didnt get a chance to ride it ! We will be visiting the park again June 17th and I’m hoping we will be able to experience the ride that day
