I Eat at Disney World Nonstop — Is This a Problem?

We are lucky enough to say our team goes to Disney World every day!

Part of our team!

We search for the best tips, test out strategies, and more to make sure you can make the absolute most out of your Disney trip. We love what we do, but we will be honest, eating Disney food every day isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and we’ve noticed a glaring problem that we think it’s time to address.

We absolutely love eating at Disney World! From the Casey’s Corn Dog Nuggets to the Dole Whip, there are so many favorites of ours that we love diving into. We always thought it would be a dream to eat at Disney World every day until we actually started doing it.

Casey’s Corner

Now, don’t get us wrong, we’re incredibly grateful to say that we get to eat at Disney World every day; however, it isn’t all that we thought it would be. After doing this for a few years, we’ve noticed some glaring problems with Disney World dining, mainly the pricing and the lack of healthier options.

It’s not a secret that Disney World dining is pricey, and we know that very well. The thing that continues to be a glaring issue is the price of healthy options (or lack thereof) and the lack of variety. When you’re on a Disney vacation, you’re so focused on the exciting snacks, treats, and meals that you really aren’t worried about their nutritional value. One thing our entire team can agree on is that it is past time to get some healthy options in the parks that are filling and won’t cost an arm and a leg!

While there are lighter items available, they tend to burn off much more quickly after walking a few miles in the heat than, say, a full tray of fries and a burger. In the past, we’ve always felt like it wasn’t a problem since you are doing so much cardio in the parks, but the body keeps count! After a while, we start to feel sluggish, tired, and weighed down by the lack of veggies and fruit in our diet.

This issue isn’t just one that plagues our team. There are lots of people looking to stick to their diets, focus on nutritional eating, require specific foods due to different health challenges, or just prefer lighter fare when they’re in the parks. Our plant-based team member, Breedlove, has also found a lack of plant-based forward options in the parks. While there are some incredible plant-based bites, they aren’t found as frequently and easily as we would like.

Recently, Breedlove and Angie took on the challenge of eating around the world for only $45 in EPCOT, where these issues became really apparent. By the end of their world showcase journey, they were snacking on only candy bars and free water to stay within budget and find things they could both eat.

Candy in EPCOT!

While we knew the budget would be tight (which is why we did the challenge!),  we were slightly surprised by the lack of budget-friendly, healthier snacks. We love a candy moment in EPCOT, and it was a really fun way to explore the World Showcase in a new way, however, not everyone wants only candy while trying to stick to a budget.

We absolutely love dining in Disney (heck, I’m craving Casey’s Corner right now), but we do think there should be more versatility in the offerings of food for all diets and budgets. After a few days on vacation, your body is practically begging for some nutrients and water. So this is our formal plea for a few more plant, fruit, protein, and overall nutritious options throughout the Disney theme parks for those of us asking for it. We know it can’t just be us!

We just want meals that aren’t just salads that won’t make us feel bad later in the week, and will keep us full as we run from ride to ride. Might we suggest some more hummus plates (we love the one above in EPCOT), an adult-style Lunchables-type option, maybe a pasta salad, or even just more vegetable skewers throughout the parks? Maybe start a partnership with CHOMPS to get them in the parks! We aren’t asking for much, just more than the only Salmon entree at Columbia Harbour House.

The salmon!

Oh! And keep it semi-affordable, please, if you can! So we had two requests, we hope that wasn’t too much. If this isn’t something that plagues you, that’s awesome! Keep enjoying every bite and think of us with our sensitive tummies and immune systems. If you are like us, please consider signing our completely fictional petition that requests affordable and healthy snacks in the Disney Parks.

We just want a little snack, please!

So here’s to our hunt for more nutritious snacks and meals in Disney! It’s a lifelong journey. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney hot takes and tips!
