A GAME-CHANGING Perk Just Expanded to 4 More Disney World Hotels

Between both water parks being open at the same time and this hotel perk coming back, Disney World is starting to become what it used to be, and we’re here for it!

All-Star Movies Resort

Starting today, April 3rd, Disney is bringing back its Airport Luggage Transfer, and we have all the details.

Disney Vacation Planner

Previously known as Resort Airline Check-In, this service allows guests to drop off their checked luggage and have it delivered directly to their flight. No more lugging it to the airport and dealing with the long check-in counter—Disney does this all for you!

Luggage Assistance

Right now, this service is only available for guests flying with Southwest Airlines (who just dropped their holiday calendar, by the way) and departing from Orlando International Airport (MCO) from the following Disney Value Resorts:

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
All-Star Music

To use the Resort Airline Check-In, you can call or visit Luggage Assistance and explain that you want to use the service. They recommend leaving your inbound Southwest Airlines tags on your bags. Then, when it’s time to leave, check into your Southwest flight, drop off your bags at Luggage Assistance in the Resort lobby, and head to the airport!

We love a Disney Resort perk!

You can also call for Luggage Assistance to come to your room to help with bags. When you drop off your luggage, you’ll need to provide a photo ID.

If you’re flying before 1:00 PM, you’ll need to drop off your bags by 1:00 AM the morning of your flight. If you’re flying after 1:00 PM, you can drop off your bags at least four hours before departure or no later than 1:00 PM, whichever comes first.

All Star Movies Lobby

Luggage Assistance can take your bags anytime between 5:00 AM and 1:00 AM.

You can track your bags using the Southwest Airlines app, so you’ll know where they are and have peace of mind. Your bags will be ready for you at your final destination, and you’re ready to go home!

Art of Animation

Right now, this system is only for leaving your Disney World Resort and not when you first arrive at the airport, which is great for all those extra souvenirs you’ll be bringing home!

All-Star Movie

We’re so glad this service has returned after being missing for the past five years. This will make heading to MCO more efficient, but it will not make leaving Disney World any easier. Stay up to date with AllEars for all updates that can affect your upcoming Disney trip!

  1. Not a fan of that drop of by 1AM requirement. Means I still have to pack (and possibly check luggage at the airport) what I wore that night and all my morning ‘stuff.’ Reminds me of a cruise, but at least with a cruise, I can repack once I claim my luggage in the morning. If they refine this, I would love to use it! (miss M.E!) I would even pay for this service, within reason. Wonder if Universal offers this benefit?

  2. A head fake.

The actual service provider once up and running will, of course ! Charge a fee if the new “program”, is successful.

A PR push for SWA now charging for baggage.

I give it six months and the fee will kick in. Along with a mandatory tip for baggage handlers.

Free to deluxe guests at some point of course, because why else would value resorts get it first.

When the fees kicks in, the value resort guests will be financing the free service for the deluxe customers.

    Fuel,labor,airport fees, airline fees,ect.

Useful while free but that will change.

    The old switcheroo !
Bring back a service that was once free to all. Then attach fees for it.

They are fooling NO ONE !

  3. Of course Disney bought back half the luggage service. The part where you drop off your bags at your hone airport and they arrive in your resort room isn’t part of this. And I have to wonder if they did this when they did because Southwest is starting to charge for checked bags. Which, of course, means fewer people will have checked bags..
