If you’ve ever planned a trip, you know that budgeting is basically an extreme sport. Between park tickets, dining, merch, and resort stays, the cost adds up fast. To that point, we thought we’d reach out to you and get your takes on what you’re absolutely terrified of wasting money on at Disney World.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What are you terrified you will waste money on at Disney World?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

Bad Food Regrets

First up, we’ve got Nidia who shared, “Bad food. Nothing worse than spending 💰on something you’re not going to eat.”

We love Disney snacks, but they can get expensive!

With so many incredible Disney dining options, nothing stings quite like dropping serious cash on a meal that turns out to be bland, dry, or just straight-up disappointing. And those quick-service misfires and overhyped snacks? Yeah, they haunt us, too.

Paying for Lightning Lane… and Not Needing It

Next, Trisha shared, “Spending money on Multipass Lightning Lane and then finding out we didn’t need it!”

This is one of the biggest Disney gambles. Some days, Lightning Lane access saves your sanity. Other times you might find out the standby lines were totally manageable, and that extra cost just went to waste. It’s a real “should I or shouldn’t I” dilemma that haunts many of us park-goers.

Noisy Hotel Nightmares

Next, Amy shared, “A hotel that I can hear other rooms too much. I need my sleep!”

After a long park day, there is nothing, NOTHING, more valuable than a good night’s sleep. If you’re shelling out for a Disney resort or even a nearby hotel, the last thing you want is to hear every footstep, toilet flush, or 2 AM toddler meltdown from the next room over. That’s a surefire way to wake up already exhausted (and regretting your hotel choice).

Merch Regret is REAL

Look, we’ve all been there. The heat of the moment. The limited-edition spirit jersey. The popcorn bucket that just felt like a good idea at the time. But once you get home and realize you just spent $40 on a shirt you’ll never wear? Ouch. The regret is real.

Paying for a Park That’s…Closed?

Next, Mark shared, “Traveling from the UK, and seeing all the rides I was looking forward to, have gone or wall put up. £$$$”

Nothing stings more than traveling across the world to experience the magic, only to find your must-do ride behind construction walls. While refurbishments are necessary, they can definitely feel like a cruel joke when you’ve been dreaming of a specific ride for years.

The Flight Home

Lastly, we’ve got Alison who shared, “A flight home 😩” Honestly, this one hurts. After an amazing trip, there’s nothing worse than realizing you have to spend a fortune just to leave the magic behind and return to reality. Why can’t we just stay in the bubble forever?
