Happy New Year’s Eve!

Disney World likes to go out with a bang when it comes to the New Year with things like special fireworks, DJs, and more! We had to join in on the festivities so let’s check out the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
We were in Magic Kingdom to check out the park’s special fireworks show called Fantasy in the Sky! This show only runs for two days out of the entire year.
We grabbed our spot and we were ready to go. Typically we recommend getting a spot in the hub, the area surrounding the Partners Statue, around 30 minutes to one hour before the show starts.

The show runs on December 30th and December 31st each year and it plays twice on those nights. Once at 6:30PM and again at 11:50PM on both evenings. This is great for anyone who can’t stay up super late but is determined to see some fireworks.

The show features the kind of glorious pyrotechnics we’ve come to expect form a Disney World fireworks display.

Throughout the show, the castle’s lightning changes colors…

…multiple…

… times!

The show is super fun and you even get to count down to the New Year with a projection timer on Cinderella Castle as the big hour nears.

The show culminates with a massive New Year finale!

Magic Kingdom isn’t the only place to count down to the New Year though! EPCOT also gets in on the celebration with DJs, parties, and fireworks inside the park.

The EPCOT celebrations only happen on the 31st though so if you’re headed to check out the World Showcase, bring some caffeine to get you through the night. You can watch the park’s typical show, Luminous, at 6:30 PM and the special fireworks, Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration at 11:54PM.
We always love special fireworks in Disney World and tonight was no exception! We hope you’re having a safe and happy New Year’s Eve and we can’t wait to spend even more time together in 2025.
