This year, Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 became the highest-grossing animated film of all time and further indicated to Disney that fans can’t get enough of the franchise. Fortunately for Inside Out fans all over the world, their wish is Disney’s command, as Dream Productions, a spinoff series inside the world of Inside Out, is about to premiere on Disney+!

Dream Productions is a 4-episode miniseries that takes place between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2. The series is releasing all four episodes on Disney+ on December 11th, 2024.

The limited series takes place inside Riley’s mind and follows “the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget, thanks to acclaimed director Paula Persimmon (voice of Paula Pell).”

In the series, Riley is growing up and the task becomes creating the next big “tween-dream hit”. Paula teams up with Xeni (Richard Ayoade), “an overly confident daydream director looking for his next big break.” The series was written and directed by Mike Jones and produced by Jaclyn Simon and is presented in a comedic mockumentary style.

In addition to Ayoade and Pell, the cast will see several returning stars of the franchise including Amy Poehler,  Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, and Maya Rudolph.

As we previously mentioned, all four episodes will drop simultaneously and the episode titles are as follows:

  • “Part 1: The Dream Team”
  • “Part 2: Out of Body”
  • “Part 3: Romance!”
  • “Part 4: A Night to Remember”

Dream Productions isn’t the only Pixar series coming to Disney+ soon. Pixar’s original series Win or Lose will premiere shortly after on February 19th, 2025.

The series follows a little league baseball coach and “reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of eight different characters in the week leading up to the big game — the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire — with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives.”

Won or Lose stars Will Forte and, unlike Dream Productions, will feature eight episodes that will drop weekly instead of all at once.
