The day has finally arrived! Disney’s newest skip-the-line system — Lightning Lane Premier Pass — has officially debuted at Disneyland Resort.

Having premiered on October 23rd, Premier Pass lets you skip the line at each participating attraction once per day. Our reporters stepped up to the challenge and tried out this new system and in doing so, realized this interesting perk: you can ride this specific attraction TWICE!
Attractions with Lightning Lane Premier Pass include the same popular rides available through Multi Pass and Single Pass. Premier Pass costs $400 per person, per day for adults and children and you can scan into each attraction once… or so we thought!

Over at Disney California Adventure Park, you can go on a pulse-racing mission with Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! This drop tower dark ride is a hit for thrill seekers and Marvel fans, and it’s available on the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. However, the attraction gets a spooky overlay for the Halloween season called Monsters After Dark.

The mission turns into total monstrous mayhem as angry creatures who have escaped captivity are now on the loose in the aftermath of Rocket’s rescue mission. This overlay takes over the attraction from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will last from August 23 through October 31, 2024.
With the switch of theming taking place in the day, we wondered if the pass would count this attraction as two different experiences, and now we finally have the answer!

When checking out the attractions available with Premier Pass, both of the experiences show up as two individual attractions we can scan into, allowing us to ride twice! Now, technically we’re boarding this attraction more than once, but because of the different themes, it is two different experiences, which is why you can scan in twice.

With that being said, if you do not scan into Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! before it transforms into Monsters After Dark, you can not scan in twice for the latter. It’s definitely a “use it or lose it” perk, and it will only last temporarily as this overlay goes away the day after Halloween.
We’re so glad we were able to catch this fun little perk and we love that it lets guests using Premier Pass enjoy both experiences. Stay tuned with us here as we bring you even more tips and tricks on Disney’s newest skip-the-line system!
