Disney Reveals NEW Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Float

Halloween is just a few weeks away (can you believe it?!) which means it’s time to start looking ahead at Thanksgiving!

Fall is HERE!

Disney is in the thick of its Halloween festivities but that hasn’t stopped the company from teasing something huge — literally — for the Thanksgiving season! Not one to shy away from showing off at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disney teased a new float coming this year as well as some characters going along for the ride!

The Disney Cruise Line has given us some really special floats for the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the past and it looks like they’re going to deliver once again in 2024!

This year’s parade in New York City will feature a brand-new float from the Disney Cruise Line called the “Magic Meets the Seas”, which features the bows of eight Disney Cruise Line ships. According to Disney, the focal point of the float is the NEW Disney Treasure ship, which is set to make its maiden voyage this December.

In addition to the Disney Treasure, the float honors every ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, including the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure, which are both planned to debut in 2025.

The new float is also meant to showcase the impending growth of the Disney Cruise Line. This past summer, Disney announced that the fleet will expand to 13 ships by 2031.

Of course, no Disney float would be complete without some lovable characters! We can expect to see Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse joined by several Disney and Pixar special guests that will “represent the stories and experiences that will be brought to life onboard the Disney Treasure, including Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Miguel, and Moana.”

The Disney Cruise Line is known for its Broadway-style shows, so what better way to show off some of its future offerings than by showing out on the streets of New York? Spectators at the Parade and folks watching at home will hear musical favorites from beloved Disney and Pixar films and get to witness a “confetti-filled finale set to the magnetic new Disney Treasure anthem, Live the Adventure.”
