We are entering the final days to be able to ride an iconic Disney ride!
In less than two months, a Tokyo Disneyland attraction will be closing for good as construction on a new ride begins.
Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 2004, but the attraction will soon be closing to make way for something new. The shooting gallery attraction will be closing permanently in October 2024 and a Wreck-It-Ralph based attraction will be taking its place.
That means that if you are hoping to ride Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters at Tokyo Disneyland before it closes, you better hurry! The attraction officially closes on October 31st, 2024, so you will need to fit in a trip to Tokyo Disney Resort soon.
The new Wreck-It-Ralph attraction is expected to open in 2026 and will likely be reusing some of the Astro Blasters ride system, however we also expect to see some upgraded technology incorporated into the ride.
The attraction will allow guests to ““enter the candy-themed racing game Sugar Rush, which is being attacked by Sugar Bugs – glitches created by King Candy. Guests team up with the beloved film characters Ralph and Vanellope to transform the Sugar Bugs back to their original “kawaii” confectionery such as cookies and cakes.”
While it can be sad to see rides permanently close, it is always exciting to have something new on the horizon! We can’t wait to learn more about the new Wreck-It-Ralph ride as construction begins.
Tokyo Disney Resort has been undergoing a lot of changes recently. Earlier this year, on June 6th, the Fantasy Springs area of Tokyo DisneySea opened. This new area features three themed areas: Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Never Land.
We had the opportunity to experience everything that Fantasy Springs has to offer and we were so impressed! We got to eat at the new Snuggly Duckling Restaurant, take a ride on Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, and so much more.
